Hey Big Spend-ah!

My hobby is an addiction.
In a good way.

But it's also a money pit.
In a very, bad bad way.

Allow me to introduce my little friend:
(Chillax, it's not a gun...)

Oh hey, Garmin 110. Yes, you will keep track of my mileage and pace. No, I won't be stuck on a trial and wonder "Have I gone to far?" "Dear Lawd in Heaven Above, when I can I stop/turn around/end this life?" "Am I running faster than a turtle right now?" "Did I yammy at mile 4 or 5?"
(Unfortunately, those thoughts have all crossed my mind at least once. Maybe twice. Especially during long runs.)

My running obsession/addiction has hit new limits. Thus, my new blog. I am now a Fancy Pants Runner with a Fancy Pants Watch.

I rationalized this purchase with:

1. I needed a new watch because my trusty Timex was blowin' bubbles.

2. It's going to be so nice to not have to clock my mileage with Strands before and then again after every run. And then use Cool Running's pace calculator. So nice.

3. In a weird way, it makes me feel more like a runner. Gross fact: The VERY first time I felt like I had crossed the barrier into "I'm a Runner," was during an 8-miler and I had developed a blister on my big toe. It burst. And I ran through it. Boom. Runnerdom.

Let the real training begin!
